For our very first feature match of the Asia Championship 2017, we have John Kevin Alcantara from Philippines going up against the 2013 World Champion, Huang Shin-En, from Taiwan.

John is playing True King Yang Zing Dinosaur, while Shin-En is running True Draco Zoodiac.

Duel 1

John went first and opened with Dragonic Diagram and tried to activate its effect, but it was negated by Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring.

John then revive Shin-En’s Ash Blossom using Monster Reborn and Normal Summoned Babycerasaurus. Both were then used to Synchro Summon Denglong, First of the Yang Zing. Denglong added Nine Pillars of Yang Zing to hand, and then sent Chiwen, Light of the Yang Zing from the deck to the graveyard.

John set 2 Spell/Trap Cards to his backrow and that was the turn.

Shin-En simply set 3 Spell/Trap Cards to his backrow and ended.

John Normal Summoned Suanni, Fire of the Yang Zing to test for Traps and there was no response from Shin-En. He then revive Babycerasaurus with Return to the Frontlines, and destroyed it for the effect of Dragonic Diagram.

Diagram got him True King Lithosagym, the Disaster, and that allowed John to go off flooding the board.

Denglong activated its effect to send Suanni, turning itself to Level 4. Denglong together with the Suanni on the field were then used to Synchro Summon Baxia, Brightness of the Yang Zing. On Baxia’s summon, its effect targeted 2 of Shin-En’s set Spell/Trap Cards, prompting Shin-En to respond.

Shin-En chained with Cosmic Cyclone, targeting John’s only set Spell/Trap card, followed with just flipping up True King’s Return. The final set card True Draco Apocalypse was also flipped, and its (2)nd effect was activated.

John revealed his set card to be Nine Pillars, negating True Draco Apocalypse.

The Chain resolved and John’s Baxia was destroyed, but Shin-En’s backrow was cleared.

The remaining True King and Dinosaur monsters went in for a direct attack, before both Level 4 Dinosaurs were used to Xyz Summon Evolzar Laggia, and that was the turn.

Shin-En activated his own Dragonic Diagram, but when he tried to activate its effect, it was met with a Ghost Ogre & Snow Rabbit, and Shin-En conceded the game instantly.

Duel 2

Shin-En went first and opened with Pot of Desires, but it was negated by Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He then went off with his own Zoodiac combo and ended with a Zoodiac Hammerkong, Zoodiac Broadbull and a set Spell/Trap card.

John played Mystical Space Typhoon on his Draw Phase, taking out True King’s Return. He set a Spell/Trap Card and that was his turn.

Shin-En seized the opening and went all out with his Zoodiac combo, bringing out Missus Radiant with Zoodiac Tigermortar and Zoodiac Ramram. All went in for a direct attack.

Shin-En played a True Draco Heritage face-up and set a Spell/Trap Card, but the set True Draco Apocalypse was taken out by Cosmic Cyclone in the End Phase.

Duel 3

John went first and played Dragonic Diagram, but its activation was negated by Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. He followed with Fossil Dig for Miscellaneousaurus, which was then sent to the graveyard, and followed with the activation of its graveyard effect. However it was negated by Skull Meister.

Souleating Oviraptor was Normal Summoned. It fetched another Oviraptor and that was the turn.

Shin-En activated Dragonic Diagram, destroyed Master Peace, the True Dracoslaying King in hand and added True King’s Return to hand.

Terraforming fetched another Dragonic Diagram, was played and replaced the current Diagram. True King’s Return was set and the new Dragram was activated, destroying it.

Another True King’s Return was added to hand, and Oviraptor was destroyed. Shin-En set a card and that was his turn.

John Normal Summoned Oviraptor, and searched for Miscellaneousaurus. Shin-En then responded with his True King’s Return to revive Master Peace.

John activate Miscellaneousaurus from hand, and then from graveyard, banishing itself. Shin-En chained with Maxx “C”, but it was negated by Ash Blossom. Jurrac Aeolo was Special Summoned from deck.

Jurrac Aeolo and Oviraptor were then used to Synchro Summon Denglong, First of the Yang Zing. Denglong added Nine Pillars of Yang Zing to hand, and then sent Chiwen, Light of the Yang Zing from the deck to the graveyard.

John set a Spell/Trap Card and that was all for his turn.

Shin-En tributed Master Peace and True King’s Return to Tribute Summon another Master Peace. True King’s Return destroyed Denglong, and as a result, Suanni, Fire of the Yang Zing was Special Summoned from deck, while Chiwen, Light of the Yang Zing revived itself.

Master Peace attacked into one of them, and then destroyed the other with its effect.

On John’s turn, he Special Summoned Ultimate Conductor Tyranno, and flooded the field with a combination of Oviraptor and Babycerasaurus effects.

Ultimate Conductor Tyranno tried to attack Master Peace but was taken out by Master Peace’s effect.

John Xyz Summon Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer on Main Phase 2 and activated its effect to get rid of Dragonic Diagram.

Shin-En drew from his deck and it was a Harpie’s Feather Duster, and it was played immediately clearing John of his backrow.

It was now safe to play Zoodiac Thoroughblade, and that allowed Shin-En to build a board of Zoodiac Xyz Monsters, while still having a Zoodiac Whiptail in hand.

He cleared John’s board before passing the turn back.

John drew dead on his next turn and concede the game.
